On the 1st week of our long 3 week break, Jack Lansford and I took it upon ourselves to camp, grill, drink, and make a fire on New Chum's beach in the Coromandel Peninsula on the tip of the North Island of New Zealand. It was unlike anything I have ever experienced before. It felt as though we were in a cove in Thailand or Fiji. We were the only ones on the beach itself but there was a sailboat parked in the cove (one lucky SOB) which kind of added the effect. Having a fire on the beach like this near the ocean had been one on our bucket list for quite some time. It is one of those moments you realize how good life can be and what you continue to work so hard for! Little did we know when we left there was a $200 infringement if we were caught for camping on this beach. Luckily we were not found out :).
